Installed at the International Business Fair
Poznan, Poland
666 1 zloty coins
diameter 300cm
October 1999
1/3
Shown at the Poznan agricultural fair ‘Polagra’, I sited this piece in the main thoroughfare between the entrance and the business hall. My original idea was to bring together two symbolic forms, the monetary and the iconic, in
the pertinent context of the business fair.
I wanted to see whether people would be attracted to the money, or be repelled by the satanic symbol, an image that I believed would be recognised in strongly Catholic Poland.
