Design

Design, in any sense of the word, is political. Inevitably the objects around us and the way they look and function affects us - our mood, our efficiency, our aspirations and our aesthetic pleasure. Good design (like good art) serves this basic political function, yet in highly complex and subtle ways. Whereas the function of good art is to question, good design's function is to answer. Not the complex questions that art asks, but the political and functional ones we demand.
