'Destruction Constructions' is a series of wall-based works on the theme of urban ruination and decay. The pieces are made from cheap and easily-obtainable materials, crudely built to emphasise rather than hide their materials.
In the Romantic era the Ruin was seen as a testament to past grandeur, destroyed by the forces of nature. My interest, however, is in the contemporary ruin produced by war or economic deprivation. Through these pieces I try to suggest the sense of isolation, fragility and loss that result from the actions of people against people.
